Five Reasons to Use Squarespace for Your Service-Based Business

There are so many options to choose from when trying to decide which platform is best for your company’s website. My mission at Carly Guion Creative is always to help you simplify and skip the overwhelm — simply put, don’t overcomplicate things.

Squarespace is my platform of choice, and here are five reasons why.

It’s easy to edit

The templates in Squarespace are all beautifully designed, and you can easily drag and drop elements – no coding knowledge necessary! I like being able to equip my clients to make simple updates to their websites themselves when needed, like adding a new page, updating their services, switching out photos, etc. On other platforms like WordPress, it’s a little more difficult to learn and requires coding customizations.

Now, it does take some coding knowledge to design a custom, comprehensive and super unique Squarespace website, but that’s why I’m here! And I provide a custom training video to teach you how to manage your website.

Your site is mobile-friendly from the start.

In 2021, mobile devices generated 54.4% of global website traffic. With Squarespace, your website design is automatically responsive from desktop to mobile. No extra coding or design is needed!

Everything is in one place.

With WordPress, you would buy hosting from one provider, a domain from another, monthly updates to your theme and plugins, hire someone to manage errors and updates each month… with Squarespace, everything is in one place.

Plus, platform maintenance is done for you, security is done for you… besides paying for your plan and your domain, there aren’t any additional monthly payments to worry about.

Plus, you can add a blog page or an online shop with the click of a button!

You don’t have to worry about security.

Squarespace is a “closed source” platform, which means that the Squarespace team are the only people who can access your website or add any additional functions. Why should you care? Because you know your website is secure from any hackers.

WordPress, for example, is an “open source” platform, meaning anybody on the internet can create plugins and add-ons (and who knows what those bring with them.)

The downside of “open source” sites is that they’re high maintenance — making sure everything you download is safe, regularly updating everything, forgetting to update something, and leaving your website open to hackers and viruses… for a small business, you probably just don’t have the time or finances to have a web developer on call 24/7.

E-Commerce is integrated — great for shop owners!

Super simple integration with Stripe and PayPal makes it easy to list and sell products online, along with multiple template options to showcase your products.

There you have it, folks! You shouldn’t have to always be thinking and worrying about your website. Squarespace helps take the stress away and lets you focus on what you do best — running your business!
